Exploring Agyeya’s Zoo: Captivity and Human Condition

“The Zoo” by famous Hindi writer Agyeya is a poignant story that explores the themes of captivity, suffering, and the human condition through the lens of a visit to a zoo. The story is narrated by a man who is reluctantly taken to the zoo by his wife, Ramā. Throughout their visit, they are guided by an enigmatic old man who claims to be the “soul of the zoo.”
