I discovered these wonderful design illustrations made by ‘Shoonya Collaborative‘ with legends in Ahirani अहिराणी (Khandeshi Marathi खान्देशी मराठी) language which is spoken in north-west Maharashtra. Khandeshi, like Ahirani, is closely related to Marathi, and it shares many linguistic features with the Marathi language. However, it also has its distinct vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural influences, which have developed over time due to the unique history and heritage of the Khandesh region.

These are some of the words in Ahirani (Khandeshi Marathi) used in building design and construction:
चौकट caukaṭ – door frame
वेल vel – beam
टिटवं ṭiṭavã – bracket

दगडी जोता dagḍī jotā – masonry plinth
कुमळी kuml̤ī – stone base for column
पाटाइत pāṭāit – floor boards
कडी kaḍī – joists
दगडी फ़रशी dagḍī farśī – stone flooring
लाकडी जाली lākḍī jālī – wooden grill
लाकडी खांब lākḍī khāmb – wooden column
दगडी भराव dagḍī bharāv – soling
